This combined scheme includes an extension of the existing Woodham Cottage, with the addition of a new residence – ‘The White house’.
We have designed the buildings as contemporary in their appearance to reflect the varied grain of the area. Various parts of the facade are defined by a change in material, with the main masses of the buildings in white painted brickwork, black birckwork and black timber cladding. This accentuates the strong geometry of these dwellings, which is complemented and contrasted by a bright yellow front door and pop out window.
A sedum roof is also used to reduce the visual impact of the proposal on surrounding buildings and allow the building to fit seamlessly within the existing landscape and vegetation.
