Located in the historic Stour Street, Canterbury; the existing building is Grade II* listed and approximately 162sqm; The site area consists of approximately 162sqm; the existing building has a built footprint taking up approximately 90sqm of the site as a whole.

The existing building is Victorian in style and currently has a D1, non-residential use-classification. It consists of 2-storeys with a third floor situated within the roof and small basement area.

The proposed 2-storey extension sits in the same location as the previously approved 2-storey extension, the internal layout has been carefully considered with regard to the historic fabric of the building. The majority of the internal layout of the building is proposed to remain intact with the exception of 3 walls on the ground floor. The proposed layout and design is sympathetic and takes the neighbouring properties into context. The removal of the walls create a passageway through the building providing access to the additional office space proposed for the rear of the site. Within the existing building, the proposed layout provides a reception area at the entrance; meeting room, WC and kitchen facilities within the ground floor. The first floor contains additional office space, meeting room, kitchenette and WC. Further desk spaces are provided within the roof-space. The basement is proposed to contain a refuse store, general storage area, printing/ service space and a server/ IT room. The proposed new extension will provide additional desk spaces on the ground and first floor which is accessed via a new stair.
