The Lena Apartments is a 45-unit scheme over five floors in the Walthamstow Borough of London.
The proposed apartment block has been designed to be tenure blind, with a 50/50 mixture of private and affordable dwellings to cater for the diverse local housing needs. An efficient and flexible unit stacking system is enclosed within an attractive building envelope which mediates and responds to the existing context, referencing local materials and building rhythm. The scheme creates a public realm and community garden at the front of the building, whilst retaining a route through the site for connectivity.
