This project proposes 30 apartments in Beckenham, London.
The key architectural feature to our design is it’s marriage of contemporary design with the heritage of the surrounding context. Neighbouring buildings are predominantly brick built, with a ‘London town house’ style. Our proposals mimic this by articulating verticality and comparable proportions.
The small-scale materials relate to the heritage of the surrounding buildings and the use of brick and small building components. The metal cladding and relief brick work imitates the local vernacular, whilst providing visual interest and a contemporary feel.
