Client Barham Youth Football Club
Sector Leisure
Location Barham, Kent
Ward Canterbury City Council
Status Planning
This scheme involves the development of a leisure facility incorporating football pitches, which will provide a changing pavilion and car parking. The Sports Pavilion will allow for expansive unobstructed views across the sports grounds from a large covered external viewing area and internal public space.
The single storey structure is to have a refined material palette of timber, red brick and slate which are typical of the vernacular architecture. Large, sliding timber panels create a distinctive architecture, whilst acting as shuttering to the building when not in use. The proposal is kept at a small scale in sensitivity to the surrounding conservation and protection areas.
