Royal Sands’ design comes to life

Progress on a new landmark development overlooking the English Channel is gathering pace.

Royal Sands at Ramsgate, an ON Architecture commission for its client Blueberry Homes. The contemporary façade has its roots in the local turn of the century vernacular of the arts & crafts style. The linear lines of all the balconies and the curved bays are 20s and 1930s inspired with the materials, scale and detail all contemporary. The interiors will offer the residents luxury coastal living.

The strong horizontal emphasis of the building, with the use of expanses of glazing set between white rendered façade, will not detract from the Georgian terrace architecture of Wellington Crescent.

When complete, Royal Sands will offer 100+ one-, two- and three-bedroom luxury apartments and penthouses, alongside a hotel, leisure and retail space on the beachside promenade just metres from the sea. Every apartment will have its own terrace and uninterrupted sea views, plus on-site private parking.

With Ramsgate having been named one of the most sought-after locations in the South East for house buyers, the majority of the 26 apartments in the first phase at Royal Sands have already been sold off plan.
