Freeman House is a retirement development scheme consisting of 54 apartments, with views of the Kent Cricket Ground in Canterbury. The result is an age-exclusive high-quality residential development, consisting of 54 retirement living apartments comprising of a mixture of one and two bedroom dwellings.

The site presented the opportunity to design a modern building with large glazed areas and light-coloured cladding, reflecting the palette of colours found on the existing buildings located within the grounds. Isolated from urban context, the site allowed flexibility to move away from traditional forms and explore more contemporary design. Whilst the building reflects the uniformity of the existing semi-detached houses opposite on Old Dover Road, it also reflects the scale and style found within the pavilion architecture on the grounds.
