Planning Application Validated for Tanyard
Proposals for Tanyard have now been validated for planning, bringing forward a residential-led regeneration scheme that will reintroduce activity, connectivity and character to an underused part of Ashford town centre.
A Neighbourhood Rooted in History
The scheme proposes 160 new homes set within a network of new streets and public spaces, drawing inspiration from the area’s historic urban grain to create a neighbourhood with a strong sense of identity.
Securing the Future of Whist House
A key element of the proposals is the restoration and reuse of the Grade II* listed Whist House. Once repaired and reoccupied, the building will once again become an active part of the town, securing its future for generations to come.
Opening Up Tanyard
The site will be reconnected to its surroundings through a series of new pedestrian links and routes, improving access and reinforcing connections between neighbouring parts of the town centre.
Regeneration with Long-Term Impact
Developed in collaboration with Ashford Borough Council and the wider project team, the proposals aim to combine housing delivery, heritage conservation and placemaking to create a vibrant and enduring addition to Ashford’s evolving town centre.
